While having a great time exploring the beautiful Valencia, at some point you will feel like having a bite. But what are the best lunch spots? Once Upon a Bike listed their favourites for you! Whether you are in the mood for a tasty hamburger, small sandwich or delightful pastry, find your perfect spot here!
Lunch in Spain
When you’re out for a lunch in Valencia, there are a few things to keep in mind. Spaniards eat their dinner very late, namely between 21.00 and 00.00! The lunch is therefore very important for the Spaniards, in fact it’s the main meal. The time to lunch is set between 13.00 and 16.00, so you have all the time to enjoy your foodbreak! A typical Spanish lunch has several courses. The first course is something light like a salad or soup. The second course is a meat or fish dish (or a typical Paella). The dessert is some fresh fruit or a delightful pastry. But of course you also have places where you can eat a sandwich and/or tapas. Are you hungry already? Find your spot below!
Saona
Saona is a restaurant that is located in one of the most beautiful squares of Valencia, la Plaza de la Virgen. It’s located in the heart of Valencia and has an incredible view on the Basilica de la Virgen, the Cathedral and the square. Its cuisine is homemade and is made with top quality ingredients that will make you enjoy in a pleasant and relaxed environment. They have a great midday menu for only €9,90 euros. The menu consists of entrants like soup and salads, a main dish like hamburgers and sandwiches and a dessert such as cakes, brownies or yoghurt. The quality of the food is very good and their terrace is incredible! Definitely worth to visit.

Federal Café
Daydreaming, watching the rain fall and enjoying the quiet streets of Australia.. That kind of relaxed atmosphere can be found in the Federal café. The place breaths a laid-back Australian vibe and has a clean, industrial interior. Drink a coffee with fresh, pure milk and have a delicious oreo cheesecake, some eggs or a tasty sandwich. For about €8,00 you already have a nice lunch! From Monday to Saturday the place is opened till at least twelve at night, so you can eat what & whenever you want.
Tip!
Try the homemade fries with parmesan cheese and truffle oil, this meal is definitely our favourite! Only fries looks like it’s not enough for a lunch, but you probably won’t even finish it!
