The best place to learn how to prepare paella is the city where this delicious dish comes from, Valencia. And you can do so during our paella workshop! We offer two different paella workshops: one for groups of 20 or more and one for groups of fewer than 20. Additionally, we also offer a paella show-cooking experience.
What?
In most restaurants, paella is prepared on gas, but there is a huge difference in taste between paella cooked on wood and paella cooked on gas. During the workshop you will also get to know typical Valencian bites, starters and a typical Valencian dessert. For many Valencian people it is a tradition to prepare Paella Valenciana on wood once a week. We would like to introduce you to this authentic Spanish tradition!

Paella showcooking
Would you love to watch how a traditional paella is made but prefer not to get hands-on in the kitchen? Then the paella showcooking experience might be perfect for you! Just 15 kilometers north of Valencia, in the countryside, there’s an authentic barraca where fresh paella is prepared daily with vegetables from the farm’s own garden.
Here, you’ll not only see how paella is made but also get a taste of Spanish tradition, surrounded by locals. Attached to the barraca is a restaurant where Spaniards gather daily for lunch. There’s no menu; instead, each day brings a delicious “chef’s choice” meal, always including a delicious, wood-cooked paella.
Where?
The barraca is a 20-minute drive north of Valencia. There’s no bus, but it’s a quick trip by taxi. Surrounded by the Valencian countryside, you’ll feel miles away from the business of the city.

Together with my colleagues we went to the paella cooking class from Pablo to make the Valencian paella and it was amazing! It is a gastronomic experience and Pablo, the paella expert, is super enthusiastic. Besides, the paella was delicious! It is really nice to see how this typical Valencian dish is prepared. Recommended!
