One of the oldest tapas bars in Valencia is Bodega Casa Montaña. The interior is traditional and the restaurant is very popular among the locals. Special about this place is that they have a very extensive wine menu. They offer a variety of bottles from all over the world, made in over 1000 wineries. They store all these bottles in their wine cellar underneath the restaurant. Especially for the people that are gluten intolerant, this typically Spanish tapas restaurant has a really convenient website. The menu page allows you to check the boxes of your food preference: without gluten, without lactose, vegetarian, etc. It will show you a selection of the plates that meet your preferences. As a result, everyone can enjoy this hotspot in the neighbourhood of Torres de Serrano. You will be filled with happy food and positive vibes when you leave the restaurant! If you really like their organic açai berries, you can buy them in their online store so you can enjoy it at home as well.

The legend of the berry
Once upon a time, there was an Indian tribe that lived in the area that is now known as the city of Bélem. The tribe was short of food, so the leader Itaki needed a solution. He decided that all children in the tribe needed to be killed. He was even willing to sacrifice his own grandchild, the daughter of Iaçá. When the full moon appeared that night, a child was crying. Iaçá heard this and followed the noise. She saw her daughter smiling at her from across the field. With a little hesitation Iaçá ran towards the girl. When she arrived, the child was sacrificed and her body was found laying against the açai tree. The smile was still on her face and she was looking up at the palm. This gave life to the dark berries of the palm. The tribe collected all berries and this way the tribe leader was able to feed everyone. As a tribute to his granddaughter, Itaki named the berry açai, which is his daughters’ name spelled backwards. Also, he did not go through with sacrificing all children of the tribe.
